King George V Playing Fields

The King George V Playing Field, Mill Lane, Enderby, LE19 4LH, is a registered charity for which the Parish Council is the sole corporate trustee. It is named after King George V and is one of many playing fields dedicated as a national memorial after the King's death in 1936.

The area overseen by the King George V Playing Field Management Committee (4.383 acres) includes Enderby Bowls Club and Enderby Lawn Tennis Club, Car Parking facility, Children's fenced play area, Woodland area and recreation ground.

Management of the land is subject to conditions enshrined in law via the Charity Commission. The charity is also monitored by the Fields in Trust (formerly the National Playing Fields Association) which provides guidance to the Council in its role as trustee.

Income from the charity comes mainly from Licence and Hire fees paid by users of the Fields. The Enderby Parish Council supports the Charity financially.
